STAFF WRITER 21:20 HRS IST

Kozhikode (Kerala), Oct 20 (PTI) Accusing Union Minister and Congress leader Vayalar Ravi of violating the poll code by offering sops at a function during his recent visit to Kannur, where a by-poll will be held on November 7, CPI(M) state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan today sought action against the minister.

"The election officials should take firm action against Ravi as he 'deliberately' violated model conduct by offering sops during his visit to the Kannur assembly constituency where by-election is slated on November 7," he told reporters here.

On the contentious issue of complaints of enlisting bogus voters in the fresh list, Vijayan alleged the Congress-led UDF was raking up some issue or another during elections just to subvert the poll process.
