STAFF WRITER 19:39 HRS IST

New Delhi, Oct 21 (PTI) The Union Cabinet is likely to recommend the dissolution of Jharkhand Assembly tomorrow which will pave the way for early elections in the state.

State Governor K Sankaranarayanan had earlier recommended dissolution of the 82-member state Assembly of Jharkhand, which is now under President's rule.

Home Ministry sources said the government has received the recommendation from the Governor, who feels the state is now ready for elections.

The Ministry is understood to have prepared a note on the dissolution of the Assembly which is likely to come up before the Cabinet meeting.

The Centre on Monday told the Supreme Court that dates for assembly elections in the state would be notified soon.
