Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) Oct 22 (PTI) The BJP today criticised Union Home Minister P Chidambaram for singing paeans to Jharkhand Governor during his visit to the state under President Rule.

"The Union Home Minister showered praise on the style of functioning, the schemes being implemented by him as well as the achievements of Jharkhand Governor K Shankarnarayanan for 26 of his 32 minute press conference," BJP state unit president Raghuvar Das told newspersons here.

He said that the way Chidambaram praised the Governor, it appeared as if he is acting as his "spokesman" rather than a Union Minister, Das ridiculed while criticising the Governor for failing to achieve targets on the economic front.

The situation in Jharkhand remained unchanged during the last three years, he alleged, while criticising the Congress for the prevailing state-of-affair in the state.
