Dhanbad, Oct 24 (PTI) Niranjan Behera (57) and Pravanjan Mullick (45) helped Orissa register a 16-run win over hosts Jharkhand in their East Zone Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy encounter at Railway Stadium here today.

Despite the loss, Jharkhand topped the East Zone leg on a better net run-rate and thus grabbed a national T20 berth.

Assam finished second ahead of Orissa on a net run-rate to become the second team to make the cut.

Jharkhand, Assam and Orissa finished with 12 points each.

Opting to bat first, Orissa scored 170 for eight in the stipulated 20 overs.

Pravanjan was at his belligerent best smashing four sixes and one four in his 30-ball knock. Niranjan hit five boundaries and two sixes in his 50-ball innings.

In reply, Jharkhand were bundled out for 154 with captain Saurabh Tiwary scoring 42.
