New Delhi, Oct 26 (PTI) Commuters in the national capital be prepared to shell out more while travelling in DTC and Blueline buses as the Delhi Government today decided to increase fares to meet the increasing revenue shortfall as well as offer a clean and modern transport system.

Announcing the decision after a Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said the minimum fare of Rs three for up to three km has been increased to Rs five, while the Rs seven and Rs 10 tickets will now cost Rs 10 (up to 10 km) and 15 (above 10 km) respectively in non-AC buses.

In AC buses, the fare will be Rs 10 for a journey up to 3 km, Rs 15 for a journey between 3 and 10 km and Rs 25 for a journey above 10 km.
