Hyderabad/Chennai, Oct 26 (PTI) Four persons lost their vision in one eye and the eye condition of eight others was stated to be critical after undergoing treatment at a free catacract surgery camp held by a corporate hospital at Nellore in Andhra Pradesh.

Four persons lost their vision in one of their eyes while the eye condition of eight others was "critical" Dr S S Badrinath, Chairman of Sankara Nethralaya Hospital, where the patients have been admitted, told reporters in Chennai today.

He said 34 persons underwent free cataract surgery at an eye camp conducted by a private hospital at Nellore on October 19 and 20. Fifteen patients had reported back to the private hospital in Nellore with pain, redness and blurring vision.

After initial treatment, 12 patients were taken to Sankara Nethralaya.
