Patna, Oct 27 (PTI) Bihar government would soon bring an Ordinance to conduct polls for the vacant posts of Mayors and Deputy Mayors in the state, according to Deputy Chief Minister S K Modi.

"We have decided to bring an Ordinance to hold elections to the vacant posts of Mayors and Deputy Mayors of various municipal corporations of the state," Modi said here today.

He said the draft framed for the purpose has already been sent to Governor D Konwar for approval.

The Ordinance would pave the way for beginning the election process for the election and removal of Mayors and Deputy Mayors of different Municipal Corporations in the state, he said, adding it would also facilitate filling up of vacancies in capital Patna.
