STAFF WRITER 17:21 HRS IST

New Delhi, Oct 27 (PTI) Police have arrested two Bangladeshi youth from the national capital prompting a further probe to check whether one of the accused was involved in last year's Mehrauli blast following discovery that he was involved in terror-related cases in his country.

Mehboob (26), hailing from Nawabganj in Dhaka, and his accomplice Muneer (26) were caught from near a hotel in south Delhi's Nizammuddin allegedly with illegal firearms, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) H G S Dhaliwal said.

Their arrest came following action on inputs developed during probe into Mehrauli blast that a Bangladeshi youth involved in terror-related cases has sneaked into Delhi.

"Mehboob's movements during the blast in Mehrauli on September 28 last year are being verified as he has been evasive about his movements in Delhi at that time. Help from concerned agencies is also being sought," he said.
