Moga (Pb), Nov 2 (PTI) A plot to kill an NRI through hired killers has come to light when one of the killers himself filed a complaint, police said today.

A criminal case was registered against five persons, including an NRI and four alleged contract killers here yesterday.

According to the FIR, Sukhpiar Singh, a resident of Rampura Phul, made a complaint to police after the plan to target the NRI failed.

In the complaint, he alleged that he along with four others, was hired by Italy-based Lal Singh to kill his NRI friend Sukhjit Singh in return of Rs 3.5 lakh.

On October 25, Sukhpiar made an attempt on Sukhjit's life at Sohian Khurd village of Jagraon, but he escaped unhurt and left India the very next day.

Fearing police's action, Sukhpiar revealed the whole plot.
