Kozhikode, Nov 2 (PTI) Captain Syed Rahim Nabi scored the lone goal as East Bengal defeated Viva Kerala 1-0 in a sixth round I-League match here today.

Nabi found the net as early as in the 10th minute of the match to help his side's cause.

Despite dominating all throughout the match, Viva Kerala forwards were the weak link for the hosts as they wasted inumerable chances before their home crowd.

Viva forwards trio of Sirajuddin, Thai recruit Wisoot Bunbeng and Shibinlal V K wasted splendid opportunities as the hosts struggled to draw parity.

With today's win, East Bengal has six points while Viva remained on three points.
