Kolkata, Nov 3 (PTI) The week-long 15th Kolkata Film Festival will get underway here from November 10, showcasing 228 films from 56 counties.

"There will be 185 features, 38 short films and five documentaries," Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, whose Information and Cultural Affairs Department is organising the fest, told a press conference here this evening.

In selecting the films, their social relevance and aesthetic acceptability had been kept in consideration, Bhattacharjee said.

He said while the focus for the festival would be Mexico, films from other Latin American countries like Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela, besides Algeria, Armenia, Bhutan, Cyprus, Nepal and Pakistan have also been included.
