Srinagar, Nov 3 (PTI) The National Conference today expressed hope that the proposed dialogue between the Centre and all shades of opinion in Jammu and Kashmir would be result-oriented.

"We appeal to all shades of opinion to accept the invitation for dialogue extended by the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and help resolve Kashmir issue. It is duty of all to make the dialogue result-oriented," NC's Lok Sabha member from Anantnag constituency Mehboob Beg said in a statement.

Referring to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's address during inauguration of rail link at Anantnag that 'Kashmir issue was political and needs a political solution', he said the "courageous" statement should encourage political parties to accept the invitation for talks.

The senior N C leader was referring to Union Home Minister's invitation to the separatists during his visit to the state on October 14.
