New Delhi, Nov 6 (PTI)
Ahead of the much-awaited global summit on climate change in Copenhagen next month, Britain today hoped that a consensus will emerge at the meet to tackle the challenge of global warming.

British High Commissioner Richard Stagg said his country understands India's policy on the issue.

"I hope consensus will be found at the Copenhagen summit next month," he said addressing a conference on climate change and sustaining mountain ecosystems.

Noting that the problem of climate change will have a severe impact on everybody's life, he said India was looking forward to an "ambitious and equitable"

plan to check the climate change.

"We all will have to put in massive efforts to protect the planet from the danger of climate change," he said noting that proper engagement of the developing countries would be "very important" to meet the challenge.
