STAFF WRITER 17:14 HRS IST

Rampur (UP), Nov 6 (PTI) BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today alleged threat to his life from Lashkar-e-Taiba and some other militant outfits for his criticism of Jamiat ulema-e-Hind opposing recitation of national song Vande Mataram by Muslims.

"Mein in dhamkion ke samne jhukne wala naheen hoon aur har samay maut ko gale lagane ko tayyar hoon (I am not afraid of such threats and ready to die at any point of time)," the senior BJP leader said while addressing a rally here.

The 52-year-old leader said, "my national approach and my love for my motherland is widely acknowledged throughout the country and no power on earth can shake that".

Expressing concern over the situation, Naqvi said a very serious condition prevails as an open conflict between edicts and constitutional provisions has emerged due to certain forces' secret agenda to take the country on harmful religious lines.
