Chennai, Nov 7 (PTI) Heavy rains lashed Tamil Nadu, affecting normal life in some parts of the state even as Chief Minister M Karunanidhi chaired a review meeting following the continued downpour.

Weather officials said the low pressure area created over Comerine near Kanyakumari "may become more marked" and bring rain or thundershowers at most places in coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

In Chennai, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi chaired a review meeting while Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin inspected steps being implemented by the Chennai Corporation to tackle the situation.

"Heavy rains are likely to occur at a few places with isolated very heavy to extremely very heavy rains over coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the next 48 hours," officials said.
