STAFF WRITER 23:32 HRS IST

Malkangiri (Orissa), Nov 7 (PTI) One Maoist, a key suspect in the murder of a village head, was arrested from a jungle in Orissa's Malkangiri district today.

The activist, identified as Muda Kabasi, was nabbed by the personnel of CRPF and Special Operation Group (SOG) as they were returning from a combing operation at Lachhipuram village forest.

Kabasi (35), who was suspected to be involved in the killing of the head of Binayakpur Banda Reddy seven months ago, confessed to having been associated with the outlawed organisation for the past four years, SP Satyabrata Bhoi said.

The police also seized some pamphlets from the extremist.
