HC takes serious note of 'deplorable' condition of 'lawaris ward' of popular UP hospital

Lucknow, Jun 9 (PTI) The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has directed a probe into poor facilities at a "filthy and stinking" ward, dubbed 'lawaris', in the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (Civil) Hospital here.

Expressing serious concern over the pitiable condition of the ward, the court directed the State Legal Services Authority to look into the allegations against the hospital.

A vacation bench of Justice Alok Mathur and Justice Jyotsna Sharma passed the order on a PIL filed by Jyoti Rajpoot on Wednesday.
