PM Modi hails Indian medallists at Asian Games

New Delhi, Oct 2 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated India's Asian Games medallists and hailed the performance of Parul Chaudhary and Ancy Sojan Edappilly who won silver medals in 3,000m steeplechase and long jump events respectively.

He also lauded the performance of the country's speed skaters who dazzled with two surprise bronze medals in men's and women's 3,000m team relay events.

India's Parul Chaudhary and Priti secured silver and bronze medals respectively in the women's 3000m steeplechase, unheralded Ancy Sojan Edappilly made a grand entry on the big stage with a long jump silver, while the 4x400m mixed relay team got a fortuitous upgrade to second spot due to 'lane infringement' on an eventful day at the Asian Games on Monday.
