Monsoon activity revives in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Sep 23 (PTI) Monsoon activity has revived in many districts of the state, a meteorological department spokesperson said on Friday.  Intermittent rain was recorded in Jaipur, Alwar, Kota, Sikar and Churu districts since Friday morning. The spokesperson said this spell of rain is expected to continue for the next three days.

The weather department has issued a yellow alert for Ajmer, Alwar, Banswara, Baran, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bundi, Dausa, Dholpur, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Kota, Sikar, Tonk Churu, Nagaur districts. According to the department, during the last 24 hours, 12 cm rain was recorded in Kotkasim in Alwar, 9 cm in Anta of Baran, 8 cm each in Govindgarh and Bansur in Alwar and Paota of Jaipur, 7 cm each in Ajmer's Tatgarh, Bharatpur city, Pachpahar in Jhalawar, Uniara and Aligarh of Tonk and Deogarh in Rajsamand.  The spokesperson said from Friday morning till 5.30 pm, Jaipur recorded 51.2 mm, Pilani 32.1 mm, Alwar and Kota 12-12 mm each, Churu 9 mm and Karauli 12.5 mm of rain. He said most parts of the state have witnessed a drop in the maximum temperature due to rain.

On Friday, the maximum temperature in all the major districts of the state was recorded in the range of 38.9 degrees Celsius to 25.6 degrees Celsius.
